Thousands without power in Poland near Czech border The first drowning death in Poland has been verified by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, but the village where it happened has been shut off, making it impossible for authorities to get to it. Over 1,600 residents of the Kłodzko region, which is close to the Czech border, have had to leave their houses. It's one of the worst hit locations; in some portions of the town, the water has gotten as low as 1.5 meters (4.9 feet). In the Kłodzko district alone, some 17,000 individuals lack electricity, and mobile phone and internet connections are broken. Tusk has approved the internet's usage of Starlink satellite technology. A Blackhawk chopper has been sent to the region to rescue individuals who are stuck on rooftops.
